My book club will be here in little over 3 hours. My house is a whirlwind of shoes, newspapers, empty coffee mugs and glasses, piles of junk mail.
Am I getting ready? No. I'm sitting here talking to you. What's wrong with me, anyway?
Time to go fire up the vacuum.

I did it. Got it all spiffy, candles lit, tables set, salad made, everything.
Some of us can clearly ONLY work under pressure.
Have fun, Verb. What book did you read? We're reading Olive Kitteridge for this month and The Help for next.
i do the same thing verb and then i run around like a freaking maniac.
i am one of those who work best under pressure. otherwise i find reasons not to do it. :) there is so much more to do then clean and tidy up.
Love me, love my house-which is a mess since I can't clean like I used to. Old age is a BITCH.
Tree, we just did Olive Kitteridge last month, and we're doing The Help this month. We should teleconference and do a combined book group!
Verb, when I'm hosting, I drive myself crazy the whole week before...making sure everything is perfect. And, truth be told, it wouldn't matter one way or the other.
same with me,spidey. I work best under pressure or I'll too find reasons not to...:) and like gail, I don't clean as well like I used to. I work with very little ones this year and am too tired not to mention I've had a serious health issue this past year too.my family helped me bunches. bless their hearts.
I'm the same way -- give me a week to do something that takes 5 hours and I'll do it in the last 4.5.
