So last night Dave and Hallie and I went to Taco Tuesday at the Mexican joint down the hill. While I was waiting in the bar with Dave (margaritas are half price on taco Tuesday!), I saw a stocky, smug-looking young gent sitting at the bar with his tattooed buddies, sporting with seeming pride a t-shirt that proclaimed, in huge white capital letters on a black shirt, "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for the White Guy."
Honestly, sometimes I'm just sick that I'm even a human.

Some people are idiots. My example of doltish behavior comes from my quick tour of the Picasso exhibit at the Met on Sunday. Here we are exposed to some of the most famous (if not, in many cases, some of the most brilliant art in the world) and people are holding up their cell phones to take pictures. This isn't a KISS concert, people. WV: Unitive
stupidity is at an all time high.
i caught the daily show and the colbert report last night (8/3)(this happens 3 times a month maybe!) and colbert had some bitch from fox news on who wrote a diary from obama's viewpoint and in it "obama" details that his wife is a pig and eats ribs ALL day every day, she just eats and eats ribs all day.
when colbert implied that the bitch's a racist, she got offended and made a pissy comment about him making fun of her in the past. how does colbert calling her a banshee relate to her making racist comments and THINKING IT'S OKAY?
this reminds me of those tacky "flush the turd" signs at the tea parties that fox news thought was so funny and clever. I didn't like bush, but I didn't have any "dump the monkey" or "i didn't vote for the retard" stickers I saw all over the place. Why? because i'm many things, but tacky isnt' one of them.
at least in the 90s racists had to stfu and at least pretend to be half-decent people or the media would pitchfork them. Now it's openly acceptable to be an ignorant pig and then get angry when you're called out for it.
I really wished colber at seriously looked at that bitch and said "so, is this what you want your kids to remember you for? Making racial jokes about the president and then bitching when you're called out on it? I mean, be a racist fine, but at least have the balls to stand 100% behind it."
The problem is that many of those jerks on TV (fox news is big here) don't really believe the crap they're saying and writing. They're just writing it to cheat the masses of morons out of money, and it works! But what they don't seem to understand that those masses of morons who buy their crap DO believe it and they take those hateful words and fuel fires and then hang people from trees and drag them on the highway behind cars, because those people are "those people."
thanks fox news and to some extent, the other media outlets....
And people ask me why I'm not a Republican...
His t-shirt should have said, "Don't blame me I voted for the flip-flopping old dude who foisted a stupid, stupid woman on the country and we can never get the toothpaste back in the tube."
Jilly, have you ever seen the SNL skit that lampoon Fox news anchorwomen? They generically call her "Pretty Blonde Lady"
"This isn't a KISS concert, people." snort
I dunno, there are some pretty idiotic Democrats out there as well. The political parties are made up of humans so there's a fair mix of all the idiocy of human kind in them both.
Would you consider it a form of racism to have voted for Obama ONLY because he's black?
I consider it racist to wear a t-shirt with an openly racist sentiment on it.
I consider voting, for whomever, to be an act of patriotism.
